Old Forester 1920 "Prohibition Style" Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky celebrates the longevity of the brand and its historical significance during Prohibition. Back in 1920, during prohibition, Owsley Brown was granted a limited permit to bottle medicinal whiskey. The typical barrel proof at that time prior to bottling was 115.
Crafted from a mashbill of 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley, Old Forester 1920 "Prohibition Style" Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky displays aromas of dried fruit, grapefruit, apricot and oak accented by subtle floral notes. The palate is rich and complex with notes of fruit, baking spice and well integrated oak accompanied by subtle notes of ginger, licorice and tobacco . Rich flavors of toasted almond, sweet fruit and oak linger through warm, long finish.
