The Old Forester 1897 "Bottle in Bond" is named after the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897 that was enacted to implement strict guidelines to provide a seal of trust to the consumers, i.e. this American whiskey was distilled, aged and bottles entirely at one distillery by one distiller and all the barrels were filled in one season. Additionally, following the regulation, this whiskey is aged for four years and bottled at exactly 100 proof.
Light copper red in color, Old Forester 1897 "Bottle in Bond" Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky displays bold and rich aromas of vanilla, clove and citrus accented by notes of salted caramel and warm allspice. The palate opens with sweeter notes of caramel and honey with underlying inviting flavors of cinnamon, clove and dried fruit accompanied by subtle notes of oak, leather and tobacco . Rich flavors of oak spice and smoke linger through the warm, medium finish.
