Blackcurrants are grown in many regions in France, but the finest ones are grown in Burgundy. The region benefits from the warmth of a continental climate, and this accounts for the extra richness found in these blackcurrants as compared with those from other regions such as Saintonge in southwest France. Mathilde Cassis captures fresh, perfectly ripe blackcurrants in a bottle, sweetness, bite, acidity, and all. Enjoy on the rocks, over ice cream, or mixed in a wide aray of cocktails; the flavors are so concentrated that it will stand up to even the most assertive bases. No stabilizers or preservatives are added to Mathilde liqueurs.
