Smugglers’ Notch Distillery is a father/son partnership in Jeffersonville, VT. The distillery, founded in 2006 at the foot of the famed Smugglers’ Notch, site of many a clandestine bootlegger’s run through this rugged Vermont mountain pass, opened its doors to the public in 2010. Using the finest ingredients blended with pristine Vermont spring water, Jeremy Elliott, a research chemist by trade, and Ron Elliott, with an extensive corporate business background, make and hand bottle remarkably distinctive, award winning handcrafted spirits one small batch at a time.
Crafted from a special blend of wheat and malted barley, and aged in new Char #4 American white oak barrels, Smugglers’ Notch "Litigation" Wheat Whiskey is a delicate, yet flavorfully balanced spirit, offering aromas of caramel, vanilla, rye and malted barley leads to a long, rich, full-bodied finish that is accentuated by subtle notes of butterscotch and oak spice.
