Kinahan's L.L. was originally founded in 1779 and acquired its famous “L.L.” mark in 1807, when the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland instructed that a vat was to be set aside for him. Kinahan's L.L. also went on to become the only Irish whiskey to ever receive Royal Warrants from the British Monarchy. Now this historic Irish distillery has reopened its doors once again to produce the premium expressions of Whiskey that made it a pioneer over two centuries ago.
Kinahan's L.L. Blended Irish Whiskey displays a fresh and crisp nose with notes of breakfast cereal, pear, orange peel and fresh cut hay. Notes of coffee and cocoa is accentuated by subtle notes of sweet cream and vanilla. The palate starts with a distinct taste of peach, vanilla, buttery toffee and dried apricot, closely followed by layers of sweet spice, Hazel Nut, rolled oats and Cocoa Beans. Hint of toasted bread and cinnamon lingers through the long, dry finish.
"Made with a combination of whiskeys made with malted and unmalted barley, this is a gentle, versatile spirit to sip or mix. The honeyed scent leads into a light, sweet flavor profile that shows coconut and vanilla, plus a bracing sprinkle of nutmeg and cinnamon heat on the drying finish." - Wine Enthusiast
