Chateau de Laubade was built in 1870 in the heart of the noblest area of the appellation: the Bas Armagnac and today the third generation of the family is actively involved in the quest of excellence of the property, composed of 260 acres of single vineyard producing four traditional grape varieties: Ugni-Blanc, Folle Blanche, Colombard and Baco via sustainable agriculture.
Chateau de Laubade "Intemporel No 5" bas Armagnac is a blend of the Lesgourgues family’s best eau-de-vie, aged from 20 to 30 years in Gascony oak casks. The result is a light mahogany colored spirit offering a bouquet of aromas of candied fruits, prune, roasted coffee, mocha, chocolate, walnut, cinnamon and fig. The full-bodied palate is aligned with the nose that exhibits an excellent harmony of flavors and a lasting finish.
"Look for a dark amber hue and a deep caramel aroma from this brandy. On the palate, fleeting sweetness gives way to a long finish, offering flavors of oak, cocoa, caramel, clove and cinnamon. Some might compare this Armagnac- to good Bourbon." - Wine Enthusiast
