Brugal "1888" Gran Reserva Rum is aged in white American oak ex-whiskey casks for 6-8 years, followed by 2-4 years in hand selected first fill Spanish oak Oloroso sherry casks. The result is a dark amber colored spirit offering fascinatingly complex nose of chocolate, roasted coffee, dried fruit with spiced nuances. The full-bodied palate is aligned with the nose offering additional aromas of toffee caramel, almond, liquorice and oak spice. Enjoy it neat, on the rocks or with your favorite cocktail, especially Old Fashioned and Manhattan.
"A limited-edition rum, newly launched in August 2011, and finished in previously used Sherry casks. That Sherry finish contributes so much: the bright copper-penny color, the lush aromas of burnt orange and raisin and the smooth, full-bodied texture. Enjoy the elongated flavors of toffee flavor dusted with Mexican-spiced chocolate while you can." - Wine Enthusiast
