Angostura "1824" 12 Year Old Rum is created and named in honor of Dr. Johann Siegart's founding of Angostura house in the city of Angostura, Venezuela in 1824. However, in present time their production is based at Trinidad. Angostura "1824" is a blend of hand selected casks picked by their master blender. These finest rums are aged in charred American oak bourbon barrels for at least 12 years. The blend is then re-casked and further matured until the rum reaches it's optimum maturity. It is then hand-drawn, filtered and hand bottled. The result is a rich bronze colored spirit with seductive, rich aromas of vanilla, honey, spice and dried fruit. The medium bodied palate offers a well rounded and seamlessly smooth texture, with addition notes of sweet molasses, chocolate and herbs, leading up to a remarkably long and flavor packed finish.
