New York Distilling Company is a Brooklyn-based operation, created by Tom Potter, co-founder of the famed Brooklyn Brewery. The earliest distilleries in Brooklyn date back to the 1700s, and during Prohibition there were supposedly over 50,000 illicit stills within New York City. New York Distilling Company contributes to this rich heritage by creating products of exceptional quality and dedicating them to iconic New Yorkers who greatly influenced the city's history.
Six years in the making, New York Distilling Company "Ragtime" American Straight Rye Whiskey is aged exclusively in full-size, 53 gallon barrels for no less than 3 years and crafted from their own rye crop with Pederson Family Farm, offering a honeyed nose with notes of dark cherry, peach, gentle cedar and bold, racy rye and oak spice. The mash bill of the Ragtime Rye Whiskey is 72% rye, 16% corn, 12% malted barley and its bottles at a whopping 45.2% ABV, allowing this whiskey to be delicious on the rocks or in a cocktail.
