The Saurus wines take their name from a very unusual, but important discovery. When the Familia Schroeder winery was being constructed on the vast plains of Patagonia, the fossilized remains of a Titanosaur were unearthed. This dinosaur roamed the area millions of years ago and was one of the biggest species ever known. In honor of this amazing discovery, the family built a special cellar in which to display the bones to the winery's visitors. They were also inspired to create the Saurus line of wines.
The Saurus Pinot Noir is a brick red wine with aromas of flowers and berry fruits. Since the wine was aged in oak barrels, hints of vanilla and cocoa also emerge from the glass. On the palate, there are delicious flavors of cherry and wild blueberry with a touch of violet on the finish.
