Domaine Rolet is run with astonishing meticulousness and care by the four Rolet siblings. In an area dominated by negociants, the Rolet family farms and bottles their own wine across three AOCs: Arbois, Côtes du Jura and L'Étoile. The family grows a wide variety of grapes traditional to the region: Chardonnay, Savagnin, Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir. The vineyards are hand harvested and farmed sustainably. Vineyards are located in North Arbois on slopes of clay & limestone with red marl subsoil. Vines are about 30 years old and Yields 43 hl/ha. Fermentation takes place in neutral barrels with lees stirrings after fermentation. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages on its lees for 12 months (being topped off for the first nine months).
Crafted from fully ripe grapes with controlled oxidation, Domaine Rolet Pere et Fils Arbois Chardonnay is a fresh, expressive wine offering intense notes of pineapple, melon, lime, and wildflowers on both the nose and palate. The lingering finish displays soft notes of grapefruit, honey, and brisk minerality. Medium bodied and refreshing, it's the perfect Chardonnay for warmer weather, and will pair well with light pasta dishes and seafood.
