Bowmore Distillery, one of the oldest in Scotland, has stood on the shores of Loch Indaal since 1779. This location, along with traditional production methods, greatly influence the overall outcome of the Scotch. Water from the Laggan River, rich Islay Peat, and the Distillery's own floor malted barley are used to produce this quality spirit, which is then matured in Port and American oak casks.
Deep mahogany with a rich ruby blush in color, Bowmore 23 Year Old Port Cask Matured Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky offers complex aromas of plum skins, black cherries and dark chocolate interwoven with notes of sandalwood, walnuts, wood smoke and sea-salt. The full-bodied palate offers a velvety mouthfeel with luscious layered flavors of autumn fruits, tingly winter spices, blood orange and sensual winter black truffles. Rich smoky notes with underlying aromas of blood orange, truffle and walnut oil lingers through the long finish.
