Bowmore Distillery, one of the oldest in Scotland, has stood on the shores of Loch Indaal since 1779. This location, along with traditional production methods, greatly influence the overall outcome of the Scotch. Water from the Laggan River, rich Islay Peat, and the Distillery's own floor malted barley are used to produce this quality spirit, which is then matured in Spanish and American oak casks.
Beautifully balanced, yet incredibly complex, Bowmore 18 Year displays rich notes of toffee, caramel, and dried fruit accentuated by dark chocolate and a light smokiness. Hints of sea salt and fine sherry appear on the lingering finish.
