90 Points - Malt Advocate
In Gaelic, Auchentoshan means "the corner of the field". Appropriately named, the distillery is situated between the Kilpatrick Hills, Loch Lomond, and the modern city of Glasgow. Unlike any other distillery in Scotland, the spirit is triple distilled to create a single malt whisky that is both pure and smooth.
Auchentoshan 18 Year is a distinctive Lowland single malt with enticing aromas of allspice, pine, candied fruit, and banana. Smooth and delicate on the palate, it starts off sweet with bright fruit notes, but then changes direction with rich, malty flavors of toasted almond and vanilla. Soft notes of honey and grain are present on the long, satisfying finish.
