Au Contraire Russian River Valley Chardonnay is a blend of Russian River Valley vineyards from the heart of Russian River Valley to the Western Edges of Green Valley touching Sonoma Coast. The variety of growing sites add layers of ripeness, fruit flavors and complexity. The grapes are hand sorted and gently pressed in whole cluster. The fermentation takes place between 65-72°F with mostly native yeasts, split between stainless steel and American oak barrels, followed by 4 months aging on lees.
Golden yellow with green tints in color, Au Contraire Russian River Valley Chardonnay in crafted from 100% Chardonnay from California’s prestigious Sonoma Coast AVA, offering pronounced lemon citrus core with tree fruits of pear and crisp apple lined with a floral note of jasmine. The full-bodied palate is round and elegant with crisp acidity and viscous with sweet honeydew melon note balanced by hint of brioche and toast. The finish is long and well balanced with a touch of minerality. Pairs well with shellfish, cream sauces, roasted chicken, fish, and zesty grilled vegetable dishes as well as mild Gouda and soft cheeses.
