Deep ruby red in color, Amastuola Centosassi Primitivo is created from 100% organically grown Primitivo and aged for 12 months in oak barrels. The nose opens with hints of sour cherry, small soft fruits and mammola violet, which harmoniously mix with sea and mineral aromas, typical from Amastuola terroir. The palate is full-bodied offering notes of blackberry, cranberry, fig, raisin, clove and licorice. Pleasant notes of minerality lingers through the long finish.
"An extracted style, with lots of dried herb and ground spice notes accenting the prune, fig bread, melted licorice, dried cranberry and mocha flavors. Medium-bodied and tangy, delivering refined tannins on the chewy finish. Drink now through 2021." - Wine Spectator
"Bold and full bodied, this offers aromas of steeped plum, prune, clove and blue flower. The concentrated, savory palate doles out mature blackberry, raisin, clove and licorice. Big but velvety tannins and just enough freshness give this a surprisingly drinkable quality that belies its heft." - Wine Enthusiast
