to drink straight. Wild Turkey Rye is powerful yet complex, with bold
aromas of tea, honey, vanilla and rye. The palate is spicy and just a
little sweet, with a touch of vanilla and honey balancing bold rye
spice.

Crafted by master distiller Jimmy Russell and his son Eddie Russell, and bottled after a six year maturation, this small batch rye is complex, lively, and bold. Russell's Reserve Rye Whiskey has gained a deep mahogany color and complex aromas and flavors without sacrificing the distinctive spice of rye; the nose and palate are robust with notes of roasted almonds, vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

This long awaited release from the Bulleit Distilling Company features a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, and is matured in charred white oak barrels for four to seven years. On the nose, Bulleit Rye offers inviting aromas of cherry, tobacco and spice, which lead to a smooth, balanced palate entry. Soft fruit notes appear first, but soon give way to sweet and spicy flavors of maple, vanilla, oak, and toffee, which contrast with touches of cinnamon and black pepper. Notes of caramel and dried fruit linger through the medium dry finish.

Cacao Prieto "Widow Jane" Rye is a young, unfiltered whiskey that is bold, lively and full of character. To create their latest release, Cacao Prieto hand-selected a barrel of two year old rye whiskey which was transported to their Brooklyn distillery and cut to proof with pure limestone mineral-rich water from the Widow Jane Mine in Rosendale, New York. Both the nose and palate offer complex notes of dried orchard fruit, citrus peel and oak, supported by an undercurrent of spicy rye. Hints of vanilla, honey and dried herbs emerge on the long, peppery finish.

Produced in extremely limited quantities, Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey is distilled from a mashbill of rye and malted barley and Bottled In Bond at 100 Proof. In the 1800's, OMG had quite a different meaning than it does today - it stood for Old MononGahela rye. Created from 80% rye & 20% malted rye, High West Silver OMG Pure Rye Whiskey is an un-aged expression of the classic OMG. The nose opens with bright, complex aromas of plum, strawberry, green apple and ripe banana, followed by rye grain, clove, mint and herbs. The smooth, medium-bodied palate offers bold citrus notes balanced by rosemary herbal spiciness. A subtle note of Meyer lemon appears on the lingering herbal finish.

Named a "must-try for rye whiskey aficionados" by John Hansell of Whisky Advocate, High West Double Rye Whiskey is the combination of two straight rye whiskeys - a bold, peppery two year old and a smooth, refined sixteen year old. Both the nose and palate open strong and spicy, but soon give way to complex notes of mint, clove, cinnamon, licorice root, pine nuts and dark chocolate. A surprising note of gin botanicals merges with an undercurrent of caramel, vanilla and sweet corn on the finish.

While many of the cocktail-in-a-bottle products leave much to be desired, High West Distillery's "The 36th Vote" Barreled Manhattan is certainly an exception. High West has created their Manhattan following the authentic pre-Prohibition recipe, and then aged the mixture in the rye whiskey's American white oak barrel for 90 days. The time spent in oak allows the spiciness of the rye to fully integrate with the sweet, herbal flavors of the vermouth and the complexity of the bitters - a result that can not be achieved by making the cocktail from scratch.
