Although thought to originate in Germany, the Riesling grape is able to thrive in cool temperatures throughout the world. While the best Riesling wines can either be bone dry or incredibly sweet, the varietal is very sensitive to growing conditions and fully expresses the terroir of its origins, lending distinctive character to the finished wine. German Rieslings reflect the slate soils of the region, which imposes a crisp minerality, while Alsace Rieslings display more fruit notes due to the warmer climate. High quality Rieslings can also hail from other countries such as Australia, Austria, New Zealand and the United States. Browse our large selection of Riesling brands from around the world, and try pairing different styles with a variety of meals, such as salad, fish, light pasta dishes, and dessert.

Cave Spring Estate Bottled Riesling is made from some of their oldest, lowest-yielding vines. The vines are spread across seven individual blocks ranging in age from 9 to 39 years, with an average vine age of about 20 years. The wine went through a cool-temperature fermentation over a 3 week period in stainless steel tanks using a range of selected yeasts to enhance complexity. fermentation was arrested at medium dryness by chilling. The wine remained on the fine lees for 3 months prior to bottling. The resulting wine presents a nose with seamless aromas of tangerine, lemon and wet slate, with undertones of cut grass and anise. The palate is full, silky and off dry with plenty of acidity offering notes of grapefruit and yellow plum. Subtle notes of fresh basil and crushed-stone lingers through the long finish.

On the nose, Kung Fu Girl is bursting with Asian pear, white peach and spring flowers. Apricot, pear, lime, and a pleasant minerality keep this off-dry wine at the perfect level of subtle sweetness. This is a great wine for a summer picnic.

Covey Run Riesling is a surprisingly well-priced and well-made value wine. This white boasts alluring aromas of peach and honeysuckle, while the off-dry, brightly acidic palate displays nectarine, melon, and honey flavors.
