A testament to mastery of his craft, La Clandestine's distiller has been awarded three consecutive Golden Spoon Awards at the Pontarlier Absinthiades. This absinthe turns a beautiful milky white when water is added, and marries the rich flavor of anise and fennel with the slight bitterness of wormwood. Several local botanicals add additional aromatics to this refreshing spirit. Its delicate complexity makes this absinthe ideal for enjoying with chilled water and mixed in classic cocktails.
|
Made with only the highest quality natural components, this is a striking expression of absinthe: though the anise and wormwood are at the forefront, the nose and palate reveal a delicate complexity lent by meadowsweet, lemon balm, hyssop, fennel, tarragon, and stinging nettles.
|
La Charlotte Absinthe Superieure draws from absinthe's history: it is named for a vintage brand, and is based upon the Devoille's traditional recipe. Each botanical is distilled individually, and following blending, is macerated with a second batch of herbs to create its natural green color. This is a balanced, flavorful absinthe with a hint of fruit on the palate and a remarkably opaque louche.

Gold, Best in Class - International Wine and Spirits Competition (London) 2006 "Absinthe of the Year" - Swiss Liquor Board 2006 Silver Medal - San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2008 Following the louche, Duplais' complex herbal aromatics unfurl slowly, revealing themselves as lifted wormwood, fennel, and spice. The palate is textured, rich, and creamy with substantial fennel and wormwood flavors. This is a powerful yet controlled spirit that achieves impeccable balance.

Silver Medal, Best In Class - International Wine & Spirit Competition 2008 Like the Duplais Verte, the Blanche is created using only the finest ingredients. A composition of quality herbs distilled with a traditional French alcohol base results in an accurate, authentic absinthe.Warm, complex aromas of wormwood, coriander, and angelica root emerge from the glass when the crystal clear Blanche is poured. When water is added, delicate, opalescent trails swirl around the glass as the entire drink turns pearly white. Slightly sweet, with a creamy mouthfeel, this absinthe exhibits rich, balanced flavors of anise, fennel and wormwood with a touch of dryness on the finish.

Now available for pre-sale. We are expecting this product to ship on or around February 5, 2010. This crystal clear absinthe has a creamy white louche with beautiful blue tones throughout. Slighty lower levels of anise allows this to be a subtle yet complex spirit with rich flavors of herbs, citrus fruits, and baking spices. With 58% alcohol, this is an easy drinking absinthe that can be paired with different entrees. Edward III has no added sugar or coloring and is made with 100% organic ingredients. Enjoy!

Double Gold Medal, Best in Class - San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2008 Vieux Pontarlier's aromas evolve after pouring, starting with bright anise and developing heady alpine herb notes with savory, lightly mentholated hints of wormwood. The initial taste is intense and spicily piquant, with round, herbal flavors cradling the wormwood and a long, refreshing, cooling finish of anise and fennel seed.

From New Orleans native and absinthe connoisseur, T.A. Breaux, comes Absinthe Nouvelle-Orleans, an absinthe rooted in the heritage that made the Sazerac cocktail and the absinthe frappe famous. Its unique distillation of stimulating herbes toniques is just what the Belle Epoque apothecaries prescribed for various subtropical ailments. Absinthe Nouvelle-Orleans presents the connoisseur with a unique perfume and texture that disappeared along with the artisanal marques almost a century ago. Each batch of Nouvelle-Orleans is handcrafted by T.A. Breaux using the same authentic ingredients, methods and equipment used over a century ago.

As much as possible, we believe in seeking out the very best products in a given category. While the Czech Republic's spiritous history may be different than those of France or Switzerland, the nation has become a major source of wormwood spirits worldwide. Representing the herbal, yet distinctively light-on-anise Czech style, we recently discovered Koruna Bohemian Absinth. This vibrantly green spirit is made with natural ingredients, and unlike many others, does not use artificial coloring. And unusually, the base spirit is molasses-based, lending a rum-like roundness unlike others we've encountered. Koruna also contains a small measure of decorative wormwood and other herbs in the bottle, offering a look at the botanicals that impart this spirit with its flavor and color.

Absinthe was banned in the United States for nearly a century, and Kubler is the first genuine Swiss absinthe to be released in the U.S. market since. Artemisia Absinthium--more commonly know as wormwood--is the primary ingredient in a formula that also includes coriander, mint, anise and fennel among other herbs and botanicals.

Gold Medal - LA International Wine & Spirits Competition 2009
Gold Medal – San Francisco World Spirits Competition, 2008 Gold Medal – Beverage Testing Institute, 2007 La Fée’s botanicals contain all of the traditional components of a fine absinthe: wormwood, green anise, star anise, hyssop, and fennel. Careful maceration during copper pot still distillation ensures abundant aromas, concentrated flavor, and an attractive louche. La Fée is also the only absinthe authenticated by the Musee de l’Absinthe in Auvers-sur-Oise, France.

Silver Medal - International Wine and Spirits Competition (London) 2008
Starting with an aromatic eau-de-vie base, Leopold Bros. Absinthe Verte is handcrafted in Colorado using a copper pot still and an array of traditional and proprietary European botanicals. The vibrant color is derived from Hyssop, Melissa and Roman Wormwood, which also contribute floral and citrus notes. The slow addition of one part absinthe to at least three parts water results in an opaque, milky white louche.
