Nicolas Catena Zapata is made from a selection of the best grapes grown in the Catena Zapata vineyards. The wine is only produced in outstanding vintage years. Made in an elegantly modern style, this exceptionally age-worthy wine is deeply aromatic with notes of dark fruit, anise, baking spices, and earth. The palate is layered, deep, and perfectly structured with flavors of blackberry, cherry, raspberry, violet, dark chocolate, and leather. Sweet tannins carry through the long finish.

D'Oliveiras Reserva Verdelho Madeira 1973 Domaine de la Vieille Julienne Chateauneuf-du-Pape Reserve 2006 Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe Chateauneuf-du-Pape

The 1973 vintage is bold and inviting with vibrant aromas of fig, toffee and raisin on the nose. The palate is full, complex, and impeccably balanced with rich flavors of hazelnut, almond and tangy citrus fruit that linger through the finish.

96+ Points - Wine Advocate
A candidate for the wine of the vintage, the 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape Reserve exhibits an opaque purple color, peppery, spicy, earthy notes, full-bodied intensity, and outstanding concentration, purity, and length. It is another sensational wine, but finding a few bottles will be difficult given the microscopic production. It should drink nicely for 20+ years, atypically long for a 2006.

Jayer-Gilles Cotes du Nuits-Villages, composed entirely of Pinot Noir, offers light, delicate aromas of red currant, licorice and smoky oak. The full bodied palate is much more powerful with deep, concentrated notes of ripe red fruit, caramel, praline and tobacco, complemented by balanced acidity and ultra-fine tannins.

The resulting wine displays inviting aromas of sour cherry, cedar bark, cardamom pods and dried herbs. The rich, fruit-forward palate, merges with hints of black raspberry, pomegranate, orange zest on the finish. This elegant wine is perfect on its on or with food.
