Bodegas Castano Yecla Monastrell Bodegas Juan Gil Monastrell Jumilla Wrongo Dongo Castano Solanera

An excellent value, Bodegas Castano Monastrell is expertly crafted from the fruit of 30 year old vines. Bold notes of rope blueberry, raspberry and plum appear on both the nose and palate, and are complemented by hints of dark chocolate and rich earth on the finish.

Wrongo Dongo Monastrell offers rich notes of black cherry, raspberry and plum, backed by earthy flavors of fresh herb and tobacco. Light, firm tannins and pleasant acidity lead to spicy, peppery notes on the finish.

90+ Points - Wine Advocate

This special limited production wine is an example of the high quality potential of the emerging Yecla region in Southern Spain. Solanera is produced from the oldest vines of the indigenous Monastrell variety along with low yielding Cabernet Sauvignon and Tintorera and aged in oak for 10 months. The resulting wine is deeply colored, with the ripe, rich flavors of the Mediterranean.

90 Points - International Wine Cellar

This red is composed of 100% Monastrell grown from 40 year old parcels. Shallow, chalky soils on a bed of limestone and rock, combined with an arid climate, produce low yields for a wine of deep complexity.

Created from ungrafted old vines, Olivares "Altos de la Hoya" Monastrell delivers a spicy, fruit-forward nose of raspberry, dried flowers and allspice, backed by a touch of earth. The palate offers sweet, tangy red fruit, balanced by lively acidity, structured tannins and a bold mineral note.
