Description   The 2005 vintage in Stellenbosch was hot and dry, with relatively low yields. Through careful canopy management, Vinum Africa was able to maintain the natural acidity and balance of the grapes while avoiding excessive sugar development. When ripe, the grapes were hand-picked and hand-sorted. Two thirds underwent malolactic fermentation in barrel, while the other third was fermented in tank to retain a balance of fruit character. The wine was then aged French and American oak. This Cabernet is a deep, vibrant cherry red. Rich, spicy and inviting aromas introduce a palate that is layered and generous. The oak influence compliments the natural fruit components, resulting in flavors of cigar box, blueberry, spice, cherry, coffee and chocolate, while a fresh note of minerality appears on the finish. Only 3500 cases are produced each year. Product of South Africa Alcohol by Volume: 14%
