Celler Pinol was founded in 1945, but did not release their first vintage until 1995. The founder, Juanjo Pinol, tended the vineyards for over 50 years before he decided that the grapes were suitable for winemaking. His dedication to quality has passed down through his family, and today, the fourth generation of the Pinol family is hard at work in the vineyards.

Ludovicus is a blend of Garnacha, Syrah, Carinena, Tempranillo and Merlot which has been aged for four months in American oak. Expressive aromas of cherry, blueberry and blackberry lead to succulent notes of ripe berry and spicy vanilla on the palate. Hints of mineral, black pepper and tobacco emerge on the smooth, satisfying finish.
