The Tremblement de Terre (The Earthquake)

Though absinthe is often enjoyed with just water and sugar, it is an important component in many cocktails. This extremely potent combination of absinthe and cognac is generally attributed to Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, who supposedly had a tremendous fondness for American-style cocktails. The name is derived from its effects, which tend to "shake up" the drinker.

3 oz. Philadelphia Distilling "Vieux Carre" Absinthe Superieure
3 oz. Chateau de Montifaud Fine Petite Champagne Cognac VSOP


Stir with ice in a mixing glass and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
