The recipe has been adapted so many times through the years that most patrons would not recognize the deep amber hue of the classic. Make your own at home with this recipe from Trader Vic and save a dollar when you purchase the ingredients together!

Trader Vic's Mai Tai:

1 oz.     Depaz Amber Blue Cane Rhum Agricole
1 oz.     Appleton Estate "Extra" 12 Year Old Jamaica Rum
1 oz.     fresh lime juice*
1/2 oz.  Senior "Curacao of Curacao" Clear Liqueur
1/4 oz.  orgeat syrup*
1/4 oz.  simple syrup*

1. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with at least two cups of crushed ice.
2. Shake and pour unstrained into a double old-fashioned glass.
3. Sink your spent lime shell in the drink and garnish with a mint sprig.
