Produced by Berry Bros. & Rudd, London's oldest wine and spirit merchant, The Glenrothes "Extraordinary Cask Collection" is a small series of exceptional casks from the late 1960s and 1970s that will be bottled and released in limited quantities over the next few years.

Matured for almost forty two years in an ex-Bourbon Hogshead Cask, The Glenrothes "Extraordinary Cask Collection" 1970 displays earthy, autumnal aromas of fresh apple cider, toffee, custard and pastry, accentuated by hints of dried herbs. Complex notes of citrus fruit, eucalyptus and pepper appear on the rich, satiny palate and merge with a distinctive note of dark chocolate on the long finish.

This limited edition spirit is presented in a traditional Glenrothes decanter which has been crafted from hand-cut crystal. It is adorned with a polished brass plaque engraved with the year of distillation and the individual, unique bottle number. The head of the stopper is fashioned from the wood of the very cask in which the whisky matured, and the label positioned at the neck of the decanter has been hand-signed by Malt Master Gordon Motion. The elegant display case is created from fine, hand-stitched leather and contains a Scottish oak plinth and a leatherbound book co-authored by six of the world's most respected spirits writers.
