Established in 1839, The Dalmore Distillery is located on the northern shores of the Firth of Cromarty, deep in the Scottish Highlands. For almost a century the distillery was owned by the Clan Mackenzie whose influence is still evident to this day - the iconic royal stag's antlers, taken from the Mackenzie family crest, adorn every bottle of The Dalmore.

Distilled in 1995, The Dalmore "Castle Leod" was initially matured in American white oak and Spanish sherry wood, then finished for eighteen months in Cabernet Sauvignon barriques from a legendary Bordeaux chateau. The nose opens with distinctive notes of plum, citrus fruit, raisin, toffee and oak, followed by a light floral note with earthy hints of pine. The wine finishing is most apparent on the palate, where lovely notes of honeyed fruit, cocoa, caramel and spice lead to flavors of marzipan, ginger, toffee and licorice on the lasting finish.
