Established in 1830 by the Tasca family, Tasca d'Almerita owns several vineyards throughout Sicily, producing a wide range of wines that capture the terrior of each vineyard. The Tenuta Regaleali estate in particular has been at the center of wine production for generations, stretching over several hundred hectares through the Sicilian interior between Palermo and Caltanissetta, to the Sclafani Bagni hills.
Matured for twelve months in French oak, Tasca d'Almerita "Lamuri" is a gorgeous Nero d'Avola offering lovely floral and herbal notes which meld with a core of deep, expressive red fruit. Hints of smoke, tobacco and spice merge with velvety tannins and balanced acidity on the lingering finish.
“The 2013 Sicilia Nero d’Avola Lamůri Tenuta Regaleali represents an impressive achievement. Grapes are sourced from vineyards between 450 and 750 meters above sea level and the wine is aged in mostly neutral oak (with 20% new oak) for one year. The high altitude vineyards have shaped the focused and linear aromas of wild berry and dried cherry. The wood regime has added delicate layers of carob seed and powdered chocolate. This is a very exciting vintage of Lamůri, thanks to its overall balance and intensity.” - Wine Advocate
