Established nearly 30 years ago, St. George Spirits was founded on the principles of Old World eau de vie distillation. Whether it be a vodka, absinthe, liqueur or brandy, every release from St. George is expertly created in small batches on copper pot stills, and does not contain any artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. The distillery incorporates organic, locally-grown fruit, vegetables, herbs and grains into their products whenever possible, and every ingredient is used in its entirety to maximize the aromas and flavors of the spirit.
St. George Single Malt Whiskey begins with two-row barley, which is roasted and smoked to bring out the character of the grain - various roast levels imparts rich, distinctive aromas, while smoking over beech and alder adds depth and complexity. The nose opens with youthful aromas of candied fruit, orange blossom, jasmine and spice, backed by a note of honeyed malt. Maturation in a variety of different barrels lends notes of dried fruit, walnut, cocoa, hazelnut, cinnamon, clove and orange peel, which merge with a touch of smoke on the elegant finish.
