Born in Bologna seventy years ago, Silvano Samaroli has been selecting and bottling the world's finest whiskies since 1968. At this time, he was the only non-British or non-Scottish person doing this type of work, but he soon gained recognition for his exceptional selections. Later on in his career, he began choosing rums from some of the world's best distilleries and then transporting them to Scotland for maturation. The cooler climate enables longer aging and results in a clean, elegant, more refined rum.

Distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2011, Samaroli Demerara Dark Rum is a rich, expressive spirit with layers of tamarind, vanilla, honey, nuts and coffee on the nose and palate. Only 390 bottles produced.
