Born in Bologna seventy years ago, Silvano Samaroli has been selecting and bottling the world's finest whiskies since 1968. At this time, he was the only non-British or non-Scottish person doing this type of work, but he soon gained recognition for his exceptional selections. Later on in his career, he began choosing rums from some of the world's best distilleries and then transporting them to Scotland for maturation. The cooler climate enables longer aging and results in a clean, elegant, more refined rum.
A complex, balanced and expressive spirit, Samaroli Fiji Rum was distilled in 2001, but matured in Scotland for ten years. Layers of caramelized fruit, tropical flowers and sweet spice emerge on the nose and palate, and merge with hints of banana and coconut on the elegant finish. Only 350 bottles produced.
