This doesn't have as much of a dramatic swirling louche I've seen with other Absinthes - a Spanish one in paricular had an almost bubbling effect - but the flavour is very good. No one herb overwhelms - those afraid of a very heavy Anise taste need not worry, as the Anise in this Absinthe is integrated very well....I mix a 4:1 ratio with ice cold water - no sugar - until the drink becomes milky white. Not terribly strong, at 62% alchohol, but be careful wih it. I had a few too many when I first got this, and it snuck up on me. As it's advertised, this is truly a real European Absinthe, and stands up very well against the various imports you've no doubt paid way too much for in the past.
