Description
 
The Bruichladdich Distillery was first opened in 1881 by the Harvey Brothers, who were determined to create a revolutionary new type of distillery and produce whisky that truly expressed the character of the land. To do so, they installed the signature tall, narrow-necked stills which are still used today to produce the Bruichladdich line. Although the company experienced numerous owners and was closed on several occasions, the aging whisky remained in storage, and in 2001 the company was once again privately owned and the distillery began to thrive once again.

Matured in for sixteen years in American white oak casks and bottled without the use of chill-filtering, Bruichladdich "The Laddie Sixteen" begins with expressive aromas of barley, melon, pear, banana and wildflowers, accented by hints of caramel, Brazil nut and sweet oak. A bold note of creamy vanilla emerges first on the palate, followed by rich toffee, citrus fruit and wild honey. An elegant touch of maritime character lingers through the finish.
