Description   Henri-Louis Pernod founded the world's first absinthe distillery in 1805, and in the 19th century, no libation was more popular amongst bohemians, artists, and writers. Enjoying unprecedented popularity throughout Europe, Pernod was later forced to reformulate due to the absinthe bans that had swept the world by 1915. Finally, this historic drink is available again as Pernod aux Plantes d'Absinthe Superieure, a bottling closely based on the iconic original. Part of Pernod's appeal is in the traditional ritual: using a glass topped with a slotted spoon and sugar cube, slowly add ice-cold water until a rich louche forms.
