Mathilde Raspberry Liqueur is produced using the Magnifique Delbard variety of raspberries, which has captivating aromas. Raspberries need warmth and dry soil, but without too much direct sunlight. The Landes region, which stretches along the Atlantic coastal plains between Bordeaux and the Spanish border, has been well known for over a century as the region growing the best raspberries for making liqueurs. Its sandy soil, pine forests and warm climate make it ideal for growing very juicy raspberries.
