Description
 
Oban is the frontier between the West Highlands and the Islands; the meeting place between land and sea. Established in 1794 by John and Hugh Stevenson, Oban is one of the oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland. The town grew up around the distillery and since its foundation, it has played an important role in local life.

Distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2012, Oban "Distillers Edition" was finished in Montilla Fino casks, highlighting and enhancing the complexity of this remarkable single malt. A bold, fruit-driven nose leads to a weighty, expressive palate bursting with toasty malt, caramel, orange zest, vanilla, smoke and sea salt, backed by a distinctive note of sherry. Hints of coffee, vanilla and oak emerge on the lasting finish.
