Mount Gay was officially established on Barbados in 1703, although it is reported that distillation occurred on the property as early as 1667. All of their distinctive rums are expertly handcrafted from high quality ingredients and distilled on a traditional pot still, as well as a column still, creating rich, full-flavored spirits.

Mount Gay Eclipse Black is created from a blend of single and double distilled rums which have been aged between two and seven years in ex-bourbon barrels from Kentucky. Although all Mount Gay rums are distilled on a traditional pot still, as well as a column still, this release features a higher percentage of pot still distillate, resulting in a bolder, more flavorful rum. A complex, inviting nose of vanilla, banana, molasses and clove leads to a smooth, medium-bodied palate with rich notes of dried fruit, caramel, pimento and roasted nuts. Hints of coffee, mocha and vanilla emerge on the finish.
