The Monde eau Syrah comes entirely from their Estate Vineyard directly behind the winery. Because of this the producer is able to control every detail of the harvest. The vineyard features two clones of Syrah - French and Australian, and represents a vast array of traditional and new world Syrah flavors. The Grapes were harvested at the peak of maturity and were fermented in an upright fermenter to control tannin structure and they used 796 yeast to emphasize fruit. This Syrah were aged 18 months in 3 year old French oak barrels.
Both nose and palate carries the aroma of Blackberry bramble and Herb de Provence. The palate shows subtle notes of plum with spicy vanilla caramels. The mouthfeel is rich with medium tannins. This Syrah does have a layer of cascading flavors that expand in the textured earthy finish.
