The Raffault family has been producing wine in Chinon since 1693 and today the estate consists of 40 hectares spread throughout the central Loire Valley. A remarkable value, Jean-Maurice Raffault "Les Galluches" is composed entirely of Cabernet Franc and has been aged for eight months in used oak barrels. The nose is fresh and expressive with aromas of ripe berry and smoke, while the complex, fruit-driven palate offers mulberry, roasted pepper, bitter orange and tobacco. Lively acidity and structured tannins merge with chalky minerality and a hint of spice on the finish.
