This project was started by two cousins, AdriÓ and Marc, who had previously worked in their respective family wineries in France and South Africa and decided to collaborate and start their own winery in Priorat, Spain. Les Cousins L'Inconscient is a blend of Carignan, Grenache, Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks followed by a short 15-20-day maceration. It is pressed and aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. After the final blending, the wine is kept in stainless steel tanks for 2-3 months before it is bottled.
This is a bold, powerful red blend that offers assertive acidity and bold tannins. A complex nose of wild berry, lavender, blackberry and incense merges with bold notes of dark fruit, cinnamon, tobacco and leather on the palate. The lengthy finish is accentuate by hints of toasted oak, sweet spice.
