La Fée Absinthe Parisienne was the first traditional absinthe distilled in France after the 1915 ban was lifted. Available for years in the UK but only just released in the United States, it makes an excellent introduction to this notorious libation.

La Fée’s botanicals contain all of the traditional components of a fine absinthe: wormwood, green anise, star anise, hyssop, and fennel. Careful maceration during copper pot still distillation ensures abundant aromas, concentrated flavor, and an attractive louche. Every batch is personally approved by renowned absinthe expert Marie-Claude Delahaye. She has stated, "La Fée captures the aroma and taste that great writers and artists such as Rimbaud, Toulouse-Lautrec and Vincent van Gogh enjoyed at the end of the 19th century." La Fée is also the only absinthe authenticated by the Musee de l’Absinthe in Auvers-sur-Oise, France.

For a limited time, each bottle shipped by DrinkUpNY will include a stainless steel La Fée eye design spoon and a miniature information booklet.

Very light and creamy February 2, 2010
Reviewer: John from Jacksonville, FL United States
Though this absinthe has an unatural looking color , the flavor was light and enjoyable leaving mild creamy effect on the tongue. I will order this again.

Good Price, Good Flavour February 17, 2009
Reviewer: Jackson from Oshkosh, WI
I do not like the fact that this is artificially coloured, it strikes me as a gimmick playing on the idea that absinthe automatically has to be green (their advertising is kind of gimmicky too).  Don't let that scare you away, though, it's a good tasting liquor for anybody who loves herbal flavours, and it's not excruciatingly expensive.

Genuine absinthe experience?- look no further February 2, 2009
Reviewer: angela smith from New York, NY United States
I was at an absinthe party last week and we sampled a range of 5 absinthes from different regions of the world.

If your looking for the genuine absinthe experience look no further! Even the absinthe museum rates La Fee! when put side by side against the competition all I can say is WOW

low end, but not bad January 29, 2009
Reviewer: peter  wilhelm from torrington, CT United States
La Fee is a low end absinthe that carries a mid to high end price. It's not bad for a mixed absinthe. It's the best artificially colored absinthe i have ever had and it does have some nice qualities. It is just not a true absinthe in my opinion.
That said, i would drink it again.
