Situated in the Muldersvlei region of the Western Cape, Joostenberg is a fifth generation family farm committed to natural farming and winemaking. By interfering as little as possible in the winemaking process, they believe that the wines created will thoroughly reflect the terrior of South Africa. All of their vineyards are tended in accordance with organic farming principles, and most wines are fermented using natural yeasts and minimal additives. The family hopes to achieve organic certification in the near future.

Joostenberg "Little J" Red is a blend of 81% Shiraz, 10.5% Cinsault, 6.5% Mourvedre and 2% Viognier. Created in a soft, fruit-forward style, the Shiraz offers smooth notes of plum, blackberry and mulberry, while the Cinsault adds bright red berry flavors and the Mourvedre lends texture and spice to the blend. A touch of Viognier was added to soften the tannins and lend a light floral note to the finish.
