The Marchand estate was founded in 1813 by Pierre Marchand, a small winegrower from Reulle-Vergy, a village in Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. It was his wife Marie Jacotier who had inherited this vineyard estate from her father who died 3 years before. The Marchand estate bas been in existence over seven generations in Morey-St-Denis. In 1983 the estate was extended with the purchase of an old wine grower's house, right in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin. Most vines are 40+ years old. Vineyards are traditionally ploughed and the grapes are picked by hand.
Ruby Red in color, Jean-Phillipe Marchand "Le Parc de Faye" Hautes Cote de Nuits is created from 100% Pinot Noir fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks before aging in French oak casks. The result is a vibrant, fruit-forward wine offering an elegant nose of ripe red fruit and wild rose leads to a medium bodied palate brimming with notes of cherry, raspberry and vanilla. A delicate touch of caramel merges with silky tannins and satisfying acidity on the finish. It will be perfect with grilled red meats or cheeses classic.
