Founded in 1880 by Honore Fillioux, the La Pouyade estate is located in the heart of Grand Champagne in the "golden triangle", a region bounded by the villages of Verrieres, Angeac-Champagne and Juillac-le-Coq. The age-old chalk and clay soil is well-known for producing high quality fruit, which the Fillioux family has used to create exceptional eaux-de-vie for five generations.
Matured for thirty-two years, Jean Fillioux XO Grande Champagne Cognac is a remarkable spirit offering tantalizing aromas of nutmeg, cinnamon and raisin, followed by dried fruit, vanilla, black pepper and almond. The rich, viscous palate opens with flavors of toasted nuts and buttercream which lead to notes of honey, baking spice, exotic fruit and marzipan. Hints of spicy dark chocolate linger through the finish.
