The J. Portugal Ramos Company is located in the Alentejano region in southern Portugal. Using both modern technology and traditional hard-harvesting methods, they can precisely influence the personality of the wine produced.

The name of this wine originates from the title given to the monks of the ancient Priest Congregation of St. John Evangelist, who were known only as "Loios". This red blend is produced from three indigenous Portuguese grapes: Aragones, Trincadeira, and Castelao. A vibrant, fruit-forward red, Loios exhibits soft tannins and ripe, dark berry flavors.
