The Il Conte Winery was established by Carlo Botter, who began farming in Veneto in the first part of the twentieth century. As the demand for their wines grew, Botter's three sons expanded their vineyard holdings to include sites in Friuli, Abruzzo and Sicily. Today, Il Conte is owned and operated by the family's third generation, brother-sister team Carlo and Annalisa Botter.

Named "a ridiculously good wine for the money" by Antonio Galloni of Wine Advocate, Il Conte is a medium-bodied, unoaked Montepulciano with bright aromas and flavors of black cherry, dried flowers and spice.
