Established in 1798, Highland Park Distillery combines high quality ingredients and traditional production methods to create their world-renowned whisky. They're one of the few distilleries that slowly malts its barley on a stone floor, physically turning it by hand for a more balanced flavor. Next, they smoke it over local aromatic peat, hand-cut from Hobbister Moor to bring a unique, fragrant heather character to the whisky. Then it is placed into sherry oak casks from Spain that bring a beautiful natural color and flavor to Highland Park Whisky. After years of maturation, the result is a strong, rich single malt with complex aromas and flavors.
Highland Park 18 Year Old is a simply spectacular bottling. A luscious burnished gold color, this dram has an inviting bouquet of honey, wildflower, peat, and smoke. The palate is layered and complex with notes of toasted walnut, honey, baking spices, chocolate, caramel, and smoke. Utterly mouthwatering, this will quickly become a new favorite.
