The Hedges Family Estate was created in 1991, on a small hill named Red Mountain. They built a French-style chateau on the slopes and surrounded it with vineyards. Although growing a variety of grapes, the Hedges family focused on cultivating Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The estate combines old-world European style with modern winemaking technology resulting in distinctive, yet affordable, products.

"CMS" Red stands for 46% Cabernet, 48% Merlot and 6% Syrah. The Cabernet and Merlot give the wine its rich flavors of blackberry and black currant, while the Syrah is responsible for its dark color, medium-full body, and earthy flavors.
