Established in 1837 by farmers John and George Rate, Glenkinchie is located in the rolling farmland of East Lothian and is currently one of the few distilleries remaining in the Lowland region. Distilled in 1999 and bottled in 2012, Glenkinchie "Distillers Edition" is a light, aromatic spirit which has undergone a second maturation in Amontillado casks. A spicy, peppery nose makes way for complex flavors of malted barley, creamy vanilla, marzipan, walnut and oak, backed by bold fruit notes. The fruit carries through to the malty finish, where it is accented by hints of molasses and toasted almond.
