Established in 1999, Clement Klur is nestled in a small valley in the center of the Alsatian wine region, very close to the village of Katzenthal, meaning "the valley of the cats". For more than ten years, the family has been utilizing biodynamic practices in the vineyards and cellars. They do not use artificial fertilizers or other synthetic aids, but use compost which has been developed under biodynamic aspects and in cooperation with other winemakers. They have also planted fruit trees on their estate which offers shelter to many species that contribute to the balance of the vines. Finally, Clement Klur insists in tending the vineyards and harvesting the grapes by hand to minimize the impact on the environment.

Named after the village of Katzenthal, meaning "the valley of the cats", Gentil de Katz is composed of Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer. The nose is dominated by a fresh rose petal aroma which is complemented by elegant hints of mineral and mango. The light bodied palate offers vibrant flavors of green apple and citrus fruit which are backed by a bold mineral note.
